Men's Style with Krystian

Fashion is in Krystian's blood. His grandfather was a tailor, giving Krystian access to different fabrics and teaching him how to use a sewing machine at an early age. Krystian followed in his grandfather's footsteps. Naturally, he gives great fashion advice. For my wedding, he suggested I wear brown shoes (because black is basic). Here are some things I learned discussing men's style with Krystian:

  1. Confidence is key: This was the biggest takeaway from our conversation. According to Krystian you can get away with wearing almost anything you want as long as you wear it with confidence.

  2. Colour and pattern combinations: Stick to two main complimentary colours per outfit. You can start with something safe and build from there. Also, don't be afraid to mix patterns (large prints match well with smaller prints as long as they contain complimentary colours according to Krystian).

  3. You don't need to break the bank to be stylish: Buy clothes that match with lots of options. Look for deals and sales. Krystian recommends Winners and Marhsall's as great places to try things on. But don't cheap out on shoes!

  4. You don't need to be super trendy: As Krystian says, chasing the latest trends will lead you to buy clothes that you are not 100% comfortable in and that will go out of style quickly. This doesn't mean it's a bad idea to be aware of what's in. Paying attention to fashion will help you find things you like.

  5. You don't need to buy brand name: Fashion is disposable, so why spend the extra money on something that won't last? Krystian recommends investing only in more durable items of clothing, shoes, and accessories.

  6. "Classic looks" never go out of style: By sticking to the classics, you'll be sure to look good and avoid having to replenish your wardrobe with the latest fashions. Here some things Krystian recommends every guy keep handy in the closet

    • A navy suit and a black suit (don't do up the bottom button of your blazer).

    • Crisp white button up shirts.

    • White T-shirts.

    • Comfortable jeans (darker jeans are more versatile).

    • White sneakers.

    • Brown loafers (make sure you have a matching belt!).

  7. Use special events to try out a new style: For the bbq Krystian wore a festive blue T-shirt that caught his eye. When choosing an outfit to wear for a special occasion, Krystian starts with the statement piece and builds from there. If you're not sure what to wear for a certain occasion you can just google it!
